The Center for Aerospace Autonomy Research (CAESAR) is a collaboration between industry, academia, and government, combining the expertise of the Stanford Autonomous Systems Lab and the Stanford Space Rendezvous Lab

CAESAR’s goal is to endow space vehicles with autonomous reasoning capabilities through fundamental and applied research at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and Spacecraft Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC). Future space robotics tasks and distributed space systems will be enabled by CAESAR through training and validating newly developed technologies via first-of-its-kind hardware-in-the-loop demos and spaceflight missions.
